Exercise & Wellness

Programmes that need space, not buildings

Many of the most valuable community health activities need only a level surface, shade and somewhere for an instructor to stand. The precinct can host them without any dedicated permanent facility.

Activities the precinct can host

  • Yoga and restorative yoga
  • Pilates
  • Tai chi
  • Stretching and mobility
  • Meditation and breathwork
  • Aerobics and Zumba
  • Dance and cultural movement
  • Senior low-impact exercise
  • Chair-based exercise
  • Bodyweight circuit training
  • Calisthenics
  • Resistance-band training
  • Boot camps
  • Martial arts using portable mats
  • Walking and jogging groups
  • Rehabilitation and adaptive exercise
  • School physical-education programmes

The stage and screen at work

Stage as an instructor platform

Raised and covered, so a yoga, dance or aerobics instructor stays visible to a large group in any weather.

Screen for demonstrations

Used for movement demonstrations, exercise timing and interval displays, and for community fitness programmes and challenges.

Accessible for every level

Seniors

Low-impact and chair-based sessions on the smooth hardcourt surface, close to seating, shade and accessible paths.

Rehabilitation and adaptive

Adaptive and rehabilitation exercise can use quieter zones while other activities continue elsewhere.

Schools

Physical-education classes and inter-school activity days can use the full surface during school hours.
